I believe that anything in life with a definable outcome or goal can be approached as a project. I apply basic project management principles to both my own personal goals, as well as the freelance projects I take on. As they say, a goal without a deadline and a plan is just a dream.

Google Project Management Certification – completed January 2025
Experience
I have many years of informal project management experience. I’ve used project management principles for my freelance work, during my time in university, and for personal projects. Having been primarily homeschooled, I practiced managing my own workloads and deadlines for schoolwork – developing time management skills as the foundation of understanding for project management.
I recently decided it was time to get some official training on my record so I went and completed the Google project management certification. I learned a lot about how to apply what I already knew about project management in a professional setting, and learned more advanced project management concepts for larger, more complex projects.
What’s Next
I’m currently working towards completing the CAPM certification from PMI.
I still regularly apply the principles of healthy project management to both my own projects and my freelance projects.
